I’m a sophomore this year and I have SO MANY extracurricular activities after school. They’re all really fun, but my teachers seem to be piling on more and more homework as I get busier and busier with games and tutoring! How can I let them know that I have a life outside of school, but no time to do all of this work? Please answer!
~ Seriously Stressed Out
Dear Seriously Stressed Out,
Don’t panic; there are a couple of ways to be able to do all of your extracurricular activities and all of your homework, too. Option number 1 is to do your homework during lunch. Now, hear me out; it’s not exactly the most fun choice of the bunch, but at least you are able to maintain your grades. Option number 2 is to complete your work on the way to and from these extracurricular activities and during any extra time you have during class – notice I said extra time in class, as in, not in the middle of a lesson. Option number 3, if you are REALLY busy with everything and you hardly have a moment to breathe, is to tell your teacher what’s going on and to ask them for the next day’s homework. You might have to look up some YouTube videos or flip through the book, but hopefully you’d be able to understand it enough to get it done. Personally, I recommend option 3 if you have a game and will not get home until midnight, because the least you can do is give the teacher a heads-up. However, working during lunch also has its perks. But, the choice is ultimately yours.
I hope that helped!
