The Jets had the ball to start the second quarter.  After driving down the field mainly on the ground, Jackson Nowlin completed a 28 yard pass to Joseph Logan for the Jets’ first score of the night.  Brody Droppleman would go on and miss the extra point, making the score 13-6 Gardendale.  After the Jets’ touchdown, the Rockets were able to put together a good drive, completing several passes on the way down and eventually scoring on a 20 yard rush.  Gardendale’s kicker would make the extra point, increasing their lead over the Jets to 14 points.

The score at halftime would be 20-6 Gardendale.

James Clemens would get the ball to start the second half.  With new quarterback Jamil Mohammad in the game, the Jets offense came to life and drove the ball down to the goal line, eventually scoring on a one yard rush by Bradley Belt.  Brody Droppleman made the extra point, making the score 13-20 Gardendale.  This would end up being Mohammad’s only sequence at quarterback and the Jets’ last score of the game.  The rest of the quarter would become a defensive tug of war.

The Rockets had the ball to start the fourth quarter.  They were able to gain yardage on the Jets’ defense through the air, on the ground, and with the help of a few penalties.  After calling a timeout, the Rockets quarterback completed a pass on a misdirection play to give Gardendale their second offensive touchdown of the night.  James Clemens blocked the extra point attempt, making the score 26-13 Gardendale.  This would be the last score of the night.

The Jets’ offense struggled the entire night, only gaining 170 yards with four turnovers.  Jets’ running back, Bradley Belt, led the team in rushing with about 85 yards and one touchdown.

Monty Rice led James Clemens’ defense in tackles with six.  Michael Sharpley would lead the defense in sacks with 2.5.

James Clemens will look to bounce back next week in the #MadisonBowl against the Bob Jones Patriots, who lost to Austin in week one.
