“Big Hiro 6” is one of Disney’s newest animated movies that just came out. (In case you were wondering, that was just a pun.) It was produced by the same team who created both “Wreck-it Ralph” and the famed “Frozen“. “Big Hero 6” is a movie adaption of the Marvel comics of the same name (technically, it makes this movie a Marvel movie, considering that some people that work for Marvel also worked on this movie.. but at the same time, it’s nothing like your typical Marvel… Just let that sink in). It was recently released on the 7th of November, and is still in theaters right now, meaning you can still watch it with the full effects!

The movie takes place in a Japan-Meets-America city called San Fransokyo. (Yes, a combination of San Francisco and Tokyo.) Our protagonist is a 14-year old genius robotics expert named Hiro Hamada. He doesn’t go to highschool, since he kind of graduated at the age of 13… as expected from some Japanese kid. He has an older brother with the name of Tadashi Hamada, and his brother attends the “Nerd School”.

The only more thing we will say is that there is a lot of cool technology and robots.

Pros: It essentially has an amazing story, and can give you ALL of the feels. It’s not just a superhero story, but so much more. It teaches viewers to handle things without diving straight into them and to assess the entire situation before acting.

Cons: Don’t some of the characters look familiar to you? The character designs are awesome, but they reused the models from the older recent Disney movies like “Tangled” and “Frozen“. Even famous, world-renowned film directors are a bit lazy.

Rating: A 9.5/10.  One of the best Disney movies EVER. For those who prefer the nostalgic hand-drawn Disney animation rather than the 3-D CGI animation, you should still give this a try.

Verdict: It’s definitely worth the time to go out and watch it. Or to wait for it to come out on Blu-Ray or DVD. (Or Netflix.) As cliche as this is, you’re never too old to watch a Disney movie- especially not “Big Hero 6.

Happy watching!
