The annual March on Madison concert included marching bands from Discovery Middle School, Liberty Middle School, Bob Jones High School, and James Clemens High School. Together these four schools put on a great performance for the city of Madison last night. The stands were completely filled with excited spectators.

The show opened with a joint performance consisting of the Discovery and Liberty Middle School performing the Star Spangled Banner. The Liberty students left while the Discovery students remained to play “Shut Up and Dance” by Walk the Moon. Then the Bob Jones competition band took the field as they present their competition exhibition to a live audience for the first time. Their show includes classical pieces such as “Eine Kleine Nacht-Musik” by Mozart and pop songs such as “Chandelier” by Sia. After a standing ovation, the Liberty band marched onto the field to play “Best Day of My Life” by American Authors, a drum cadence, and “Lion Sleeps Tonight”. The Marching Jets took over the field afterwards and performed their competition and football show, titled “A Time to Speak”. The Marching Patriots finished with their football show that includes popular songs like “Crazy in Love” by Beyonce. The Jets and Patriots concluded the show with a joint performance of the Military Salute.

Although Liberty and Discovery, and James Clemens and Bob Jones are rivals on the field, off the field, we are one unit. And that’s what makes us a community.
