In a time where FRQs, DBQs, and SFI are
zooming around your head, it’s hard to believe you’ll make it through the next few weeks. These tests are incredibly important- not to mention, expensive- and the pressure is building and you feel like you’re going to crack. It’s hard to remember to take care of yourself during these trying times, but here are some reminders you may want to consider to help ease the pain that are AP Exams.

Taking care of your body seems like the
last thing that’s on your mind when studying, and it’s that much easier to sacrifice your health just to study a little longer; however, it’s important to make sure your body is in great condition because poor health will come back to haunt you when you’re test taking. Lack of sleep will leave you scatter-brained and will not only hurt your studying but also your judgement when taking tests. That coffee is only going to keep you conscious at this point, and it’s no match for some sleep, so make sure you’re getting plenty of that. What you put in is what you get out; make sure the food you consume has at least an inkling of nutritional substance. When you’re so busy, it’s easy to reach for the closest thing or even skip meals altogether, but it’s best for your body and your brain to consume protein rich foods and plenty of NATURAL sugars to keep your vitamins balanced.

The mental state you’re in is also
imperative. Keep calm during tests and remember that you’ve prepared (maybe) and you’re going to do fine. Although some stress can give you initiative, too much will take your mind places other than the material. Avoid all-nighters, they’ll do more harm than good- and chances are that you’ll remember some stuff from when you covered it in class. To finish it all off, remember that it’s not the end of the world if you don’t get a five. Or a four. Or if you don’t pass at all! You probably won’t care in a year or two, and if it means that much to you, you can take it again next year. But do you really want to put yourself through that next year?
