Silhouettes of people I don’t know or recognize follow quickly behind.

Making note of every move I make and interpreting it in their own way.

When these dark figures get closer, I make an attempt to run,

But no matter how quickly I will run and where I run to,

They remind me that they’re there with a tap on the shoulder.

These figures terrify me.

I don’t know who they are and who they belong to.

Darting to the mirror to see who is behind me,

I stare into the eyes of defeat.

And I soon realize that they belong to me.
